so!! dru'sil was made in the kobold press setting whose name i don't remember, and that means there are two camps of elves, the woodsy wood elves and the urbane high elves

in my head this is like night elves vs. blood elves
CHESHIRE
except even the wood elves are snooty, they're just differently snooty than the high elves.
CHESHIRE
anyway one day some high elves found a wood elf baby and they were like, we are very old and bored, let's adopt it

well no more like "we are SUPER GENEROUS AND ALTRUISTIC also very old and rich and bored, let's adopt it"
CHESHIRE
and, as an obviously not-high elf being raised in the upper echelons of high elf society, you can imagine that life was not super great for dru'sil
CHESHIRE
she had an unpleasant upbringing of being continuously insulted and degraded for being a wood elf while also being unsubtly pushed into what the high elves regarded as "wood elf" things
CHESHIRE
so she is an arcane archer, which is to say she goes PEW PEW with magic arrows
CHESHIRE
er moving on dru'sil sort of started like...acting out by getting up to shit in the sense of, she would Do Things and then watch everyone else act even worse in response to her (this is where the alec comes in)

largely for amusement and cynicism but also Revenge
CHESHIRE
just quietly orchestrating shit so that people she particularly disliked wound up in very embarrassing situations, largely because of their own flaws and foibles

liar, trickster, etc. she has good charisma for a fighter
CHESHIRE
it took her a long time to work up to actually leaving her home though and it was largely because she did one of her tricks and, well, it pissed off the wrong person enough that she had to hightail it out into the wide world

i guess i will say that she didn't actively thirst to be part of the society that rejected her but it was also like

and probably at some point she met some wood elves who rejected her so lol where else does she have

she's like the elf equivalent of mid-twenties-ish or whatever

personality wise. she likes to get up to shit. she likes to drink and gamble and party.

growing up with a fairly wealthy family means she sort of...is not great with money but also her impulse control is just not that great

OH YEAH part of what i put in her backstory is that she's ~ambiguously~ on a SEKRIT MISSION from high elf command and i'm not sure what to do with that

because on the one hand, it's hilarious, but also, she's shaping up to be a different kind of liar than "i'm sorry i pretended to be someone i'm not!!!"

no she is 5000 layers of bullshit wrapped around a party animal and while she will definitely lie it's more to Stir Shit Up than to represent herself as something other than she is

i should say she knows primoridal, the language of elementals, which is absolutely useless outside of very specific situations, and i totally imagined her picking that useless goddamned language specifically to spite her parents

who were like well OBVIOUSLY you need to know a foreign language (common doesn't count) and so she rebelled by picking the most esoteric and useless one she could

like fulfilling mandatory foreign language requirements with latin

probably sex with ppl who are not elves is like SOOO FROWNED UPON by elves but also they live so long and pretty much everyone has AT LEAST banged a human at some point if they are an elf who is into sex
